Remember.

Dear Self,

Remember that you are loved. When the weight of your pain is crushing you, remember. When your body is overwhelmed with memories of trauma, remember.

Remember how you shared your pain with the world, and remember that so many people reached out and shared their grief with you.

Remember that you're not alone. When you feel like no one can understand, remember the messages they sent. When the flashbacks wreck your mind, remember others know that pain too. 

Remember that you've made it this far, and if you can do that you can make it even further.

Remember that you don't have anything to prove. Remember that it is enough to just keep living - you are not obligated to thrive.

Remember that you have a right to feel pain, you don't have to fight it. Remember that acknowledging that pain helps you heal. Remember trying to ignore it won't make it go away.

Remember God is big enough to handle your questions and doubts. Remember that Jesus know what it's like to feel abandoned by the Father. 

Remember you don't have to be ok. Remember it's ok to be angry, sad, and overwhelmed. 

When you feel these things, remember to come back and read this, and remember.
